Tenbury Wells is a small Market Town on the borders of
Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Due to the nature of the Town with the River Teme and the
Kyre Brook encompassing the Town it is often prey to flooding. Again in the
last storms the waters came up and threatened trade in the Town, so, aligning
with the National Small Business Saturday initiative is a chance to speak out
and remind people that the lovely little town that Queen Victoria is said to
have called her little Town in the Orchard is here and Open For Business and
welcomes visitors to visit it’s Unique selection of shops, pubs, cafes,
restaurants and businesses.
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial
campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to
‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December
each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
On Small Business Saturday, customers across the U.K go out
and support all types of small businesses, online, in offices and in stores.
Many small businesses take part in the day by hosting events and offering
discounts.
In 2019 Small Business Saturday falls on December 7th
which is also the day for the Mistletoe celebrations in Town along with the
Santa Parade and the launch of the 2020 Tourism Guide
We encourage people to come and see what Tenbury has to offer, not only on December 7th, but every other shopping day of the year. Our businesses carry posters in their windows showing that they support the initiative and welcome you to come inside and see what is on offer; they may also carry an offer for the day which will be an added bonus…… you will be surprised at the vast range of products and services on offer
