‘Blossoms Up’ – Tenbury Wells Open for Business were invited by Bruce & Sarah to Commonwood Farm for their hugely popular Pop-Up event on Friday evening ‘Pizza & Perry’
Their family history dates to 1887, they are the 6th generation to farm and to watch over the land. Bruce and Sarah have a combined knowledge of horticulture and the food & drink industry, this coupled with a breathtakingly beautiful setting was perfect for a summer night’s event.
We were in for a treat as alongside we welcomed the exceptionally talented Hanah – Beth Bailey from Painted Fern Studio an incredible singer/songwriter whose lyrical talent touched me to my core. Arriving with just her Guitar & Amp and her lovely ‘Mum’ she made our evening singing her own renditions and that of popular artists The Kooks, Kate Nash and many more. Here is a lady of many talents, she is also a Creative Artist, Author & Illustrator.
The Barn housed the all-important bar cladded with farm pallets (great reusing guys) so charming, functional, and just like being at a pub bar. On offer, Commonwod’s Sparkling Vintage Perry using pears from their old ‘Bannut‘ (Old name for walnut tree) orchard. These they believe dated back to the 1700s.
Apple Juice – A firm favourite with our little people, the children enjoyed the freedom to just ‘be’ in a safe relaxing environment, being at one with nature.
Cider & Cocktails, beer, wine, and plenty of bubbles were offered by the helpful girls on the bar.
We sat down at one of the many tables in the garden overlooked by the most stunning grade II listed farmhouse with adjoining barn (Bar & Indoor seating). An abundance of flower beds lovingly maintained were a welcome sight for our bees, it was really a picture postcard kind of moment for me and I’m sure others felt it too.
A steady stream of friends, families, many faces familiar to Lauren and I, great to see you and to hear that you enjoy the pop ups at Commonwood Farm so much with your families. The timings were 5pm – 9pm so perfect for those family get togethers.
Not just Pizza but woodfired Pizza from Pepperoni, margarita, chicken with caramelized onion, blue cheese, and many more tempting tastes. These were brought to our table in boxes (no washing up to be done) and boxes recycled. There was silence on our table with just the odd ‘hmmm’ and ‘yum’ The lads did a super job especially in the heat of the evening, so well done and all with a smile!
If you saw Lauren or my little big boy wielding a paparazzi-looking camera, we were trying out our new camera and the setting was too irresistible to not shoot a few for our blog and to share with you all.
If you have not been to a pop up event at Commonwood Farm before, then check out their website or Facebook page for the upcoming events.
