Let’s Paws For Thought! Hello, I’m Lulu the Lab and welcome to Lulu’s Lifestyle Blog
I am a Pedigree Labrador from Oxfordshire and descended from a world-renowned long line of Labradors. I have come to live in beautiful Tenbury Wells with my owner’s family.
My life now is a world away from the show ring of which I am best known. My new friends are many, some with four legs, some with two and even three-legged. Some are huge but many are small.
I have all the open space I need, I hear the birds sing on my morning walks. This reminds me of how lucky a dog am I.
I love my little humans, especially when they come home from school and show me so much affection. In return, my calmness and serenity help my new little human in many ways as he is Autistic.
My nature is calm and steady, my temperament is kind and gentle. Last Tuesday I jumped in the car, I love going on trips and I wasn’t sure whether I would be going to see some shop owners, for a coffee or even a ‘dip’ not at the pool, at the river, silly!
This was the first of many of Lulu’s Lifestyle Blogs
My family at Tenbury Wells Open For Business wanted to take me to see their friends over at Kyrebrook Day Care Centre.
They provide an outstanding service and they wanted me to go and meet some new friends. I was on my absolute best behaviour because I wasn’t sure if tea & biscuits (doggy) would be served.
I met many people there but one lady I took a liking to and that was ‘Betty’ she knew exactly what I needed, a tummy rub and to just sit on her feet by her chair. Then I heard a clang of cups and the biscuits arrived but was there one for me?
Did someone say my name? “would Lulu like a biscuit, can she have one” music to my ears, so I gently accepted a digestive with grace from Betty. She seemed really impressed by my manners…
There were so many activities I saw on my visit, from a serious game of scrabble with many grown up words far beyond my ‘dogcabulary’
There was colouring, many games, jigsaws and books. My Betty had nearly finished her jigsaw!
What I did notice was many happy smiling relaxed faces, It made me feel very at home…
We left just before the delicious lunch was served, it was delivered and prepared by the famous ‘Mikes’ https://www.facebook.com/TenburyWells6TemeStreets’ of Tenbury. It’s so nice to see businesses supporting Kyrebrook and there are many who do locally.
Kyrebrook Daycare Centre is a very warm and welcoming ‘home from home’ environment, where adults are encouraged to socialise and have fun. It’s run by very caring professionals who believe that clients and carers deserve affordable and excellent respite day care, and clients are welcomed as ‘part of the Kyrebrook family’.
The centre is a modern, airy and spacious facility on the outskirts of Tenbury Wells, and clients can have transport from their own homes as part of the service. We provide hot and cold refreshments throughout the day, and clients are welcomed with a drink and a light breakfast on arrival. A delicious and nutritious two-course hot lunch is included, and biscuits and cake are always available.
If you have a family member or a friend who you feel could benefit from daily company and stimulation, please contact Ria and the team 01584 318030 or email contact@kyrebrook.org.uk
