Regal Tenbury Wells Announces Spectacular Opera Festival for May 2026

Tenbury Wells will come alive with the sound of world-class opera this spring as Regal presents the Regal Opera Festival, running from 2nd to 10th May 2026.

Bringing together three unique performances, the festival promises an exciting and accessible celebration of opera for both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The festival opens on Saturday 2nd May (7:30pm) with A Gilbert & Sullivan Gala Concert, performed by the renowned Charles Court Opera. Audiences can expect a lively and entertaining programme featuring highlights from the much-loved comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan, delivered with charm, wit and musical excellence. On Tuesday 5th May (6:00pm), Regal will screen The Metropolitan Opera presents Eugene Onegin (As Live). This acclaimed production of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece brings the magic of New York’s Metropolitan Opera directly to Tenbury Wells. Featuring an outstanding international cast, it offers audiences the chance to experience world-class opera without leaving the local area. The festival concludes on Saturday 9th May (7:30pm) with A Night at the Opera, presented by the Authentic Opera Company. This engaging and accessible performance takes audiences on a humorous and informative journey through 400 years of opera, combining stunning vocals with storytelling and wit.
